8 Day Uganda Birding Safari: Detailed Itinerary

 Day 1: Arrival at Murchison Falls National Park

On arrival at the airport you will be picked up by our company guide to engage in birding in Entebbe botanical gardens ,have lunch and bird through your journey, to where you are going to have dinner and stay overnight.

• Murchison River Lodge or Pakuba Safari Lodge (Mid-range)

Destination: Murchison Falls National Park

Day 2: Birding Tour to Murchison Falls National Park 

After breakfast, head to Murchison falls national park with birding en-route and a lunch stop reaching the park in the evening for check in dinner and overnight

Day 3: Birding while in the Game drive 

Wake to a great breakfast treat and then packed lunch so as to have more time in the wild, head for a game drive as you watch out for the available bird species like, The Giant, Pied, Malachite, Stripped, Chestnut-bellied, Blue-breasted, Woodland and the African Pygmy Kingfishers, House Martin, African Rock Martin, Lesser Stripped Swallow, Ethiopian Swallow, Angola Swallow, and various others. There after head back to the lodge for dinner and overnight

Day 4: Nature Walk and Launch Cruise

Today following breakfast will be the nature walk to look for the bird species in the destination on foot with accompaniment of agame ranger that will take you through all the birding spots to see the active birds. After which we will get back to the lodge have lunch and then head on to the afternoon activity which will be a boat cruise along the Nile delta where we can watch water birds more closely and various other birds like the Shoebill Stork, Little Grebe, Great White and the Pink-backed Pelicans, Red-knobbed Coot, African Water Rail, Allen’s Gallinule, Black Crake, after the activity retire to be back for dinner and overnight

Day 5: Game drive and Transfer to Budongo Forest

Having had breakfast you will then transfer to Budongo forest where you will engage in more birding, make sure to have you lunch pack so as to spend more time in the forest as you enjoy the rewarding bird species that can be viewed while in Budongo forest. There after the activity head to the lodge reserved at for dinner and overnight.

Day 6: Birding Tour in Budongo Forest Reserve

Having had breakfast you will then transfer to Budongo forest where you will engage in more birding, make sure to have you lunch pack so as to spend more time in the forest as you enjoy the rewarding bird species that can be viewed while in Budongo forest. There after the activity head to the lodge reserved at for dinner and overnight.

Day 7: Birding en route to Entebbe 

Have breakfast and bird the whole day during your last night on the itinerary, lunch then after the activity have dinner and overnight at Laico Lake Victoria Hotel or Entebbe Traveller’s Inn.

Day 8: Departure

Wake up in the morning and eat breakfast then head for the airport.
